Business Office
Admitting is part of the Business office and is the person’s first contact with the hospital.This department works on making things easy on patients and their families, being registered for care in the hospital or Long Term Care units. The staff in the Business office are very knowledgeable and skilled in finance.They manage the payment process for residents in Queensway place and Long Term Care, making this significant transition easier on the residents and their families. The Business office is the information centre for the hospital, keeping track of finances to optimize services available to the communit community. This department and Information Systems are interlinked. Staff ensure that technology and communications help the hospital run efficiently.

Finance Office
Staff of the financial department do a lot of key ‘behind-the-scenes’ work. They keep the financial affairs of the hospital in order. The department has the major fiscal responsibility in ensuring that the hospital’s finances are in order that the EGH can provide as many services as possible to the public. A budget is established with department managers and monitored monthly budget in order to make sure that there is enough money to provide patient services for the entire year.

Information Systems
Mission Statement - The I.S. Department will strive to deliver a complete range of IT services and provide a user-friendly and productive computing environment for the Espanola, Blind River , and Manitoulin Hospitals . We will endeavor to ensure high levels of accessibility, and system availability while protecting data integrity, and confidentiality. We will also be available as source of information and assistance for IT related tasks and problems while attempting to foster increased computer proficiency in all staff.

Health Records Department
Your care at the Espanola General Hospital is carefully charted in the medical record (usually referred to as the Health Record) with accurate and timely health information.  The information is charted according to the Public Hospital 's Act of Ontario and the Personal Health Info rmation Protection Act, 2004.  These Acts govern the contents, retention and access to the information contained in the health record.  The health record is the property of the hospital that compiled it, however the information within the record is accessible to you following hospital policies for these requests.

The Health Records Department stores and secures the medical records.  The Health Records Staff are also responsible for qualitative and quantitative information within the record, the proper disclosure of health information, statistical information for use in the healthcare delivery and financial management and the transcription services within the facility.  Maintaining the patient's privacy/confidentiality is a key role within the Health Records Department as well as throughout the Espanola General Hospital .

The Health Records Department is open from Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 4:00 pm .  All requests for release of information can be forwarded to the Health Records Department.
